Ingredients

4 whole wheat pita breads

2 medium apples (preferably Fuji or Gala)

2 tablespoons coconut oil or melted butter

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Optional: granola or chopped nuts for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Pita Chips: Cut each pita bread into 8 triangles. In a small bowl, mix together the melted coconut oil (or butter), sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

Coat the Pita: Brush the oil mixture onto both sides of the pita triangles, ensuring they are evenly coated. Arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Chips: Bake the pita chips in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are golden brown and crisp. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning!

Prepare the Apple Slices: While the chips are baking, wash and core the apples. Slice them thinly and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.

Make the Yogurt Dip: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed and creamy. Adjust sweetness by adding more honey if desired.

Serve: Once the pita chips are done, let them cool for a few minutes. Serve the baked apple pita chips alongside the creamy yogurt dip, garnished with granola or chopped nuts if desired. Enjoy your delightful snack!
