Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, milk, honey (or maple syrup), almond butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Make sure they are evenly distributed.

Incorporate the Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay!

Add Chocolates and Nuts: Fold in the dark chocolate chips and walnuts or pecans if using, making sure they are evenly dispersed throughout the batter.

Pour into Baking Dish: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula for an even layer.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Cut: Allow the bake to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack. Once cool, cut into squares.

Serve: Enjoy warm or at room temperature. Serve as a fulfilling breakfast, snack, or dessert option.
