Ingredients

1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup buttermilk (or plant-based milk for vegan)

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for added flavor)

2 tablespoons olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer:

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

      Prepare the Cauliflower:

In a large bowl, place the cauliflower florets and set aside.

          Make the Breading Mixture:

In another bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

              Prepare the Buttermilk Coating:

Pour the buttermilk into a separate bowl. This will help the flour mixture adhere to the cauliflower.

                  Coat the Cauliflower:

Dip each cauliflower floret into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.

                      Create the Crunchy Texture:

After coating with flour, dip the florets back into the buttermilk, then roll them in the panko breadcrumbs, ensuring they are well coated. If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese into the breadcrumbs for extra flavor.

                          Arrange in the Air Fryer:

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil or use cooking spray. Place the cauliflower bites in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches.

                              Air Fry the Cauliflower:

Cook the cauliflower bites in the air fryer for about 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.

                                  Serve:

Once cooked, remove the cauliflower bites from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or honey mustard.
