1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crispiness)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tsp vinegar)

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Optional: Dipping sauces (honey mustard, ranch, BBQ)

Instructions
 

Prep the Chicken: Start by marinating the chicken strips in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) in the refrigerator. This will ensure they stay juicy and tender.

    Set Up Breading Station: In three separate shallow bowls, set out the flour mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second, and panko breadcrumbs in the third bowl.

      Bread the Chicken:

        - Remove the chicken strips from the buttermilk.

          - Dredge each strip in the flour mixture first, shaking off the excess.

            - Dip into the beaten eggs, completely covering the chicken.

              - Finally, press the chicken strips into the panko breadcrumbs until they are fully coated. Place the breaded strips on a plate.

                Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.

                  Cook the Chicken Tenders: Lightly spray the basket of the air fryer with cooking spray. Arrange chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket, making sure they aren't crowded. Spray the tops with a little more cooking spray.

                    Air Fry: Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If your air fryer requires multiple batches, keep the cooked tenders warm in a low oven while cooking the rest.
