Ingredients

For the Chicken Tenders:

1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

½ teaspoon dried oregano

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

For the Dipping Sauce:

½ cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

    - In a large bowl, combine the chicken strips, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to ensure the chicken is fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.

      Prepare the Breading Station:

        - Set up a breading station with three bowls. In the first bowl, add the flour. In the second bowl, add the marinated chicken (allowing excess buttermilk to drip off). In the third bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, oregano, and a pinch of salt.

          Bread the Chicken:

            - Dip each chicken strip first into the flour, ensuring it's evenly coated. Next, immerse it in the buttermilk again, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken strip with the panko mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Place the breaded chicken tenders on a plate.

              Preheat the Air Fryer:

                - Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

                  Air Fry the Chicken Tenders:

                    - Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Spray the top of the chicken tenders with cooking spray or olive oil spray.

                      - Cook the chicken tenders in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

                        Make the Dipping Sauce:

                          - While the chicken is cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

                            Serve:

                              - Once the chicken tenders are done, carefully remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute. Serve hot with the dipping sauce for a delicious meal or snack!
