Ingredients

2 large yellow onions

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

Prep the Onions: Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside in a bowl.

Create the Flour Mixture: In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well and set aside.

Prepare the Egg Wash: In another bowl, whisk the eggs until well-beaten.

        Coat the Onion Rings:

          - Take a ring of onion and dip it into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated.

            - Shake off any excess flour and then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off.

              - Finally, coat the onion ring in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they adhere well. Repeat with all onion rings.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 3-5 minutes.

Air Fry the Onion Rings: Arrange the coated onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray to help them crisp up. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the onion rings from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing, marinara, or a spicy aioli.
