Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tsp corn starch mixed with 1 tbsp water (for thickening)

2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Start by washing and cutting the broccoli into florets, slicing the bell pepper, and mincing the garlic and ginger.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the broccoli and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

Add Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan, stirring quickly to avoid burning. Sauté for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine: Return the shrimp to the pan and add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir everything together to coat the shrimp and vegetables.

Thicken the Sauce: Mix the corn starch with water, then pour it into the pan. Stir continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
