Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: Sprinkles or edible glitter for decoration

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a standard muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Then mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Start with a third of the flour mixture, mix, then add half of the milk, followed by another third of the flour, the remaining milk, and finally the last of the flour. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Fill Cupcake Liners: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.

Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

Cool: Once baked, remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the tin for about 5 minutes. Then, transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting and Decoration: Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost with your favorite vanilla buttercream or cream cheese frosting. Add sprinkles or edible glitter for a finishing touch!
