Ingredients

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup maple syrup or agave nectar

1/4 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free if needed)

Optional toppings: crushed nuts, coconut flakes, fresh berries, or whipped coconut cream

Instructions

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.

Blend the Base: In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend until creamy and smooth. Make sure there are no lumps.

Incorporate Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate into the avocado mixture and blend again until fully incorporated. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more maple syrup.

Chill the Mousse: Transfer the mixture to an airtight container or individual serving dishes, smoothing the tops with a spatula. Cover and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours until set.

Serve: Once the mousse is frozen and firm, scoop or slice into portions. Top with your choice of crushed nuts, coconut flakes, fresh berries, or whipped coconut cream for extra flavor and texture.

Enjoy: For best texture, allow the mousse to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before enjoying for a creamy, smooth indulgence.
