1/4 cup coconut flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 cup maple syrup (or honey, if preferred)

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free if desired)

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and sea salt. Whisk together until evenly combined.

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the maple syrup, unsweetened applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth and well-integrated.

        Combine Mixtures: Slowly add the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the dark chocolate chips and, if using, the chopped walnuts or pecans.

          Form Bites: Using a tablespoon, scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten each scoop slightly with your fingers or the back of a spoon.
