Ingredients

6 English muffins, split in half

1 pound breakfast sausage, crumbled

8 large eggs

1 cup milk

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary and set aside.

Prepare the Muffins: Lightly toast the English muffin halves in the oven or toaster until just golden. Arrange them in a 9x13-inch baking dish, cut side up.

Combine Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Layer the Ingredients: Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the English muffin halves in the baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the muffins and sausage, ensuring everything is evenly coated.

Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top of the mixture.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the eggs are set and the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chives before slicing into squares. Serve warm and enjoy!
