Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup milk (or chicken broth)

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to preheat while you prepare the meatballs.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, black pepper, and milk. Mix everything thoroughly until just combined, taking care not to overwork the meat.

Form the Meatballs: With clean hands, scoop out about 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the meatballs on a plate or tray. Repeat the process until all the mixture is shaped into balls. You should have approximately 20 meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the meatballs in a single layer in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd them (you may need to do this in batches). Air fry for 10-12 minutes, turning the meatballs halfway through, until they are cooked through and have a nice golden color.

Heat the Marinara Sauce: While the meatballs are cooking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until simmering. Optional: add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra flavor!

Serve: Once the meatballs are cooked, carefully remove them from the air fryer. Place them on a serving dish and generously pour the warm marinara sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a burst of color and flavor.

Enjoy: Serve these scrumptious savory air fryer turkey meatballs with marinara sauce alongside spaghetti, in a sub roll, or alone as an appetizer!
