Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage

1 cup (100g) breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

3 cups uncooked spaghetti

4 cups water

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef or sausage, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and set aside.

Layer Ingredients in Slow Cooker: Pour half of the marinara sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker. Then, arrange half of the uncooked spaghetti over the sauce. Place a layer of the meatballs on top, followed by the remaining marinara sauce. Layer the rest of the uncooked spaghetti over this, ensuring even distribution. Finally, pour 4 cups of water over the entire mixture.

Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the spaghetti is tender and the meatballs are cooked through.

Add Cheese: About 15-30 minutes before serving, mix the noodles gently to separate them and prevent sticking. Then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover and allow the cheese to melt.

Serve and Garnish: Once the cheese is gooey and melty, stir gently if desired and serve hot. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for an added touch of flavor and presentation.
